Short Essay of Journalism

In my personal opinion I think the value of journalism has dropped tremendously. As we all can see, most of journalism is about celebrities, weight loss, politics, and how to stay in shape. What about all the other sections of journalism? They're just as important yet never get the lime light, per-say. Like news about orphanages, animals (not celebrities), or even new anythings.
Whenever I see newspapers it's the same articles in every newspapers but different wording. Why would I want to read about just politics? Or care about what some celebrity is doing(EXCEPT DANIEL RADCLIFFE)? Whatever the case is I want to know about actual news that is important to the world.

Principle of Journalism: Be Accountable for Your Work

So out of the four choices to write about, I chose being accountable for your work. I think that this is the most important of all these choices because journalist need to realize they're accountable for their work. What would happen if people weren't accountable for their work? The world would just BOOM, explode with chaos and lawsuits. I mean no would be taking responsibility of their work, wether god nor bad.

Quote

I understand what the quote comes off as. The guy, Christopher Hitchens, doesn't want to go through a newspaper to get information. If you relate this to science, then it Christopher Hitchens is a Tertiary Consumer. A Tertiary Consumer eats something that ate something that ate a plant. So it's like Christopher Hitchens got news from the newspaper, that got it from some witness of a crime.
Christopher wants to go straight to the source instead of going through a newspaper and getting his own information. That's, from my understanding, why he'd want to be a journalist.

Crime of Opportunity

I think this is worse then a planned robbery by far. For something planned it can be stopped ahead of time or whatnot. A crime of opportunity can happen at any time and usually; unexpected. This makes them much worse.
In a crime of opportunity it shows someone's true colors. Having the option/choice of the right thing to do and the wrong, people usually pick the latter option/choice. If someone has to choose between giving someone back their money after they dropped it and just taking the money and run; everybody chooses the second choice. Little exceptions.

Be Remembered After Deceased

Lady GaGa . It's a name we hear or are fairly familiar with, sometimes too familiar. If she died would you remember her? Of coarse you would(don't lie), she'd be hard to forget with Lady GaGa playing such a big part in our modern society recently. With helping/supporting the LGBT community and being an international music star. So, in conclusion, I think Lady GaGa will always be remembered.

"Newt Gingrich Nipped by Penguin, Gets a Bandaid." Is This News?

I don't think this is news. Newt Gingrich getting nipped by a penguin and getting a band-aid for it just isn't news/doesn't matter.
First off, news is suppose to something that recently happened(found out recently) and is or inspiring, entertaining, informing, and possibly shocking. Newt Gingrich and a penguin will NEVER be inspiring(for the humans). I find it to be little entertaining. Also it isn't informing (of a "pressing matter") or relatively shocking. If I was a penguin I'd definitely nip Newt Gingrich.

Is it right for a student to get expelled from school because they posted profanity on twitter at home with a school laptop?

I think it's right the student got expelled from school for what they did. The student shouldn't have posted the profanity with a school laptop, even if they were at home. The student knew it was school property and not to use the device for such inappropriate things.

Ashton Kutcher Private Astronaut

Ashton Kutcher will be soon adding the title of 'astronaut' to his growing resume.
The 34-year-old actor will become the 500th space traveller take a trip on Virgin Galactic, it was announced on March 20, 2012. Virgin CEO,Sir Richard Branson, announced the news on his blog.
He wrote: "I gave Ashton a quick call to congratulate and welcome him. He is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us and to experience the magic of space for himself."
I personally don't care about Ashton Kutcher or anything about the space program. I mean, I could of gone on with my life without knowing about these events. Thank you.

Moon Colony becoming a 51st State?

Newt Gingrich has proposed that he will, as president, is  start a moon program to have a lunar colony on the moon. The colony apparently already successful is going to be our 51st state? Well Gingrich says the colony will be up and running by his second term. When did he get elected the first time? I don't remember.
I completely and utterly disagree with his choice. First, it will take more than 8 years to create the colony. I mean, the people you'd have to gather first. then the equipment it would require. Then the people, 13,00, would have to train an learn and become astronauts. The people would need a place to go to, the base, that hasn't even been made. The people would need oxygen, water, and some exercise program if they ever wanted to go back to the Earth. Also, the vehicles that would need to built to transfer all those people. Apollo 13 only had 3 people and it had a huge spaceship, so think about what the material and time to make all of those.
Second. Gingrich says it will be done in his second term. When did Newt Gingrich get voted president the first time?!?

Good and Evil

I don't really believe in absolute evil or good. Yes, there is evil and good. For example, Harry Potter and Voldemort because Voldemort isn't pure evil and he wasn't all evil to begin with and Harry Potter isn't all good either I mean have you seen how mean he is to Draco? That's evil.
Do think that good and evil are two things always trying to take each other out until one gives. Also, I don't think good or evil could ever be defeated forever and that they do have to co-exist in the world.
